I was able to finish my cardigan on the weekend and can I just say how lovely it is to be able to knit again! So. Very. Nice!
pattern :: adelaide yolk pullover
yarn :: cascade 220 heathers
The pattern (as you may have noticed by the name) calls for a pullover sweater but I really had my heart set on a cardigan so ended up knitting the pullover in the round, steeking (cutting open) the front and then knitting on a button band. I have a pet peeve with cardigans that gape open (and I do find that knit cardigans especially tend to pull and gape) so I added some grosgrain ribbon to the back of the button band to hopefully help with that.
We're finally getting some warm summer weather this week so my adelaide is neatly folded and tucked away waiting for a cool autumn evening to be worn which, I know, will come soon enough. In the meantime there are bushels of tomatoes to can and cucumbers to harvest and one more planting of lettuce to get in the ground and goodness me, these last few days of summer to really and truly enjoy.
Ravelry notes here.
P.S. Have I told you how happy I am to be knitting again?
